HIGHLIGHTS: Raquel burst onto the hard rock scene with a blend of powerful guitar rock and memorable melodies. The band gained notoriety with the song "Pop Goes the Music." This song was featured in a MTV commercial in the early nineties. It marked the start of the relationship between the band and producer Toby Wright, who is now known for his work with Alice in Chains and Korn. The band was a east coast favorite, and still receives mail today from fans around the world. This grouping of songs include some never before heard compositions, along with the obligatory fan favorites. ENJOY!!

US hard rockers Raquel had a song called "Pop Goes The Music" featured on MTV at the beginning of the ninties. The majority of the songs on this album were produced by Tony Wright who later went on to success by producing multi-million selling albums for contempory grunge bands such as Alice In Chains and Korn, but don't worry as Raquel are defintley big haired hard rockers.

Raquel gained themselves quite a following on the East Coast, but as with nearly every hard rock band, they strugggled to gain record label exposure in the grunge inflicted world of the early ninties, it was those nice people at metal mayhem who saw the bands potential and picked them up finally securing a relelase for Raquel's debut album which is a tasty blend of catchy American hard rock a'la Firehouse, Tyketto, Attraction, Bon Jovi and Extreme.

There are nine song on this album with top of the bunch being "Love Don't Go", "Dark City", "Angel" and "Take Me Down". All of these get the feet tapping and force you to bring out the old air guitar and play along with the band. Raquel is a very nice album worth investigating and the good news is that the band are writing and recording new material for a follow up- of which I can hardly wait to hear.

Recommended.
